comspace launches the informationportal verbraucherbildung.de

With the aim of strengthening the consumer competence of students, the new website verbraucherbildung.de was launched on September 30th 20011. It was commissioned by the Bundesverband der Verbraucherzentralen (Federal Association of Consumer Advice Centers) and is aimed primarily at teachers at German schools.

Voice of the Customers

The verbraucherbildung.de website’s core is the material-compass supported by the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (Bundesministerium für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Verbraucherschutz). It offers teachers practical teaching materials regarding consumer topics, such as finance, media, food, consumption and consumer rights, evaluated by independent experts. The topics shall prospectively be more focused on and be taught interdisciplinary within school lessons and close knowledge gaps regarding the mentioned areas.  The consumer-education’s editorial staff maintains the website by means of the Web Content Management System Open Text Web Solutions. The latest consumer topics are processed didactically on the platform. The material-compass is especially intuitive:the classic blackboard was selected as a navigation-metaphor. By clicking or „drag and drop“ users can arrange and compile teaching materials by topics, subjects and school-level and can evaluate the suitability for the planned unit by using the detailed descriptions and ratings.
